Please note that COMPEX 2019 will be held on its new weekend of May 31, June 1, and 2, at its new location of Guerin College Prep, a large high school facility located at 8001 West Belmont Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171. River Grove is an adjacent suburb of Chicago on the northwest side. This location is easily reached by major roadways and public transportation and is about 6 miles from O’Hare Airport. Also, Guerin College Prep has a large parking lot (free, of course!) and the building is air conditioned!!!
Hours of the show are: Friday and Saturday – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free!!!
COMPEX 2019 (Combined Philatelic Exhibition of Chicagoland) is comprised of 7 Chicago area clubs holding their individual exhibits under the same roof at the same time. Member club members of COMPEX 2019 will presents a variety of exhibits for the viewing pleasure of all in attendance.
This year, our theme is, “The 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Grand Canyon National Park.”
Three meetings with presentations are scheduled for COMPEX this year. They are: Chicago Philatelic Society, Saturday, 1:00 p.m., presentation of, “Franchise Stamps of the Duchy of Modena, Part I,” by Michael Bisberg; Germany Philatelic Society, Chicagoland Chapter #5, Saturday, 2:00 p.m., with a show-and-tell session: “My Favorite German-Area Philatelic Item,” with attendees asked to bring material to show; North Shore Philatelic Society, Saturday, 3:00 p.m., with presentation of, “Franchise Stamps of the Duchy of Modena, Part II,” by Michael Bisberg. Also, the Baden-Powell Philatelic Association of Illinois, Chapter #1 of the Scouts on Stamps Society International (SOSSI)is also holding a meeting, but their plans are not finalized as this time. Please check the show programs for meeting room locations.
Once again, COMPEX will have its traditional Youth/Beginners’ Booth with free stamps and activities for collectors, whether they are new to the hobby or already working on collections. Information about collecting is also available for those wanting to get started in the hobby, regardless of age.
A bourse of approximately 25 dealers will be participating to fill the needs of all levels of collecting interests. In addition to our philatelic dealers, we are including one postcard dealer, as well as several of our regular who carry postcards.
In addition to the dealers, the United States Postal Service and the United Nations Postal Administration with participate with their respective postal products available for purchase.

The show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
